My new favorite bracelet! (But I do have a thing for goats).
I found this vintage sterling silver nametag bracelet (well, most of it) in an antique store in Blain, WA. It had a broken clasp and some mysterious, mostly worn away script writing that I fell in love with. What did the original name tag say? I see a capital B, the beginnings of an R, maybe a T, and L and an E. I like to think it’s open to interpretation.
It’s very solidly made, with soldered sterling links. I found a great sterling clasp that I’d saved in my stash, which fits exactly through the links, making the bracelet very adjustable. Finally, This goat (not sterling – but gleaned from the same antique store!) found its way into this creation as the finishing “bob” at the end of the chain. Attached with yet another sturdy piece of sterling “s” curve from my stash.
Mysterious, quirky, and sturdy.
Entire bracelet length is 9.75” long. Actual “nametag” plate is just over 2” long. The back is marked “Sterling”.
Did I mention it’s got a goat charm on it?
