I had coffee on my deck this morning in the sunshine and there was a delicious chill in the air. I love autumn, it's hands down my favorite season. Something about the turn in the weather never fails to get my creative juices flowing. I tend to layer up more - not just sweaters and scarves, but jewelry too. As I type, I have this on one wrist, this on the other, and these on my ears. My new favorites - I've been wearing them non-stop ever since I made them the other day.
Here's a shot from the PNE the other night (the Pacific National Exhibition don't cha know). If you look closely, past my delighted "Triple-O burger face", you'll see me rocking all three creations. I do tend to favor the newest things I've made. It's one of the fun parts of making jewelry - wearing the new stuff! It's also pretty great when your boyfriend is a talented photographer who likes taking pictures of my goofy self.
I love the PNE. I didn't grow up in Vancouver, where it seems to be a teenage right of passage to attend this end-of-summer seasonal fair. So I've discovered it as an adult... but I'm the kind of "adult" that still gets excited about checking out the agricultural barn (horses! goats! bunnies!). The other night we grabbed poutine and watched the Super Dogs show; then we ate some award-winning pulled pork while watching a Led Zeppelin tribute band (holy moose knuckles!); then sauntered over to the agricultural barn where we got to pet baby chicks, bunnies, sheep and lovely lovely horses. A banner night, in my books!
